PLASTEX QAZAQSTAN 2026 EXHIBITION CONCLUDES IN ALMATY, HIGHLIGHTING NEW PROSPECTS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE POLYMER INDUSTRY

FROM 21 TO 23 OCTOBER 2026, THE KAZAKHSTAN INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION OF PLASTICS AND CHEMICAL INDUSTRY PLASTEX QAZAQSTAN 2026 TOOK PLACE IN ALMATY.

The event served as a professional platform for interaction between manufacturers, equipment suppliers, processing enterprises, industry associations, and representatives of government bodies. The business programme featured 5 thematic sessions with the participation of 22 speakers representing various areas of the polymer and oil and gas chemical industries.

This year, the exhibition brought together companies from Kazakhstan, China, Russia, and Uzbekistan, including domestic and international brands.

The exhibition showcased polymer raw materials, masterbatches, dyes, chemical additives, and materials for manufacturing plastic products, as well as solutions in the field of antistatic equipment. Particular attention was paid to the development of Kazakhstan’s oil and gas chemical industry, including the activities of KPI and the prospects for launching the SILLENO plant. The exhibition was complemented by specialised professional literature and environmental workshops dedicated to plastic sorting and recycling.

The effectiveness of participation in the exhibition and the importance of direct interaction with a professional audience were reflected in the feedback from exhibiting companies: “At Plastex Qazaqstan, we reached agreements with foreign suppliers and manufacturers of raw materials used in our production. Around ten companies expressed potential interest in cooperating with us. We would like to establish partnerships with them upon achieving our target indicators. The exhibition has a multiplier effect on the development of our industry, particularly in terms of secondary raw material management”, said Orynbasar Duzbayev, Production Manager, Zeta.

An important addition to the exhibition was the business programme, which focused on current challenges in the development of Kazakhstan’s polymer industry. On 21 October, the first day of the exhibition, the business programme opened with an extended plenary session, “Kazakhstan’s Polymer Industry: From Launching Petrochemical Production Facilities to High Value-Added Products”.  It was followed by the foresight block, “Summing Up”, dedicated to consolidating the outcomes of the discussion. The official opening ceremony of Plastex Qazaqstan 2026 also took place that day, followed by a guided VIP tour of the exhibition. The remainder of the first day’s programme included the session “Modernization of Housing and Utilities through Polymer Solutions: Development of Pipe Production and Localization of Infrastructure Projects”, as well as the workshop “Development of Environmentally Safe Hybrid Composite Roofing Coatings with Enhanced Weather Resistance, Waterproofing, Chemical Resistance and Physical and Mechanical Properties”.

On 22 October, the professional agenda continued with a special KPI session, “Developing Polymer Processing in Kazakhstan: KPI Commercial Solutions and Special Programmes”, and the session “Economics of Plastics Recycling in Kazakhstan”. In cooperation with its partner Recycle Birge, a series of free workshops dedicated to plastic labelling and recycling was organised throughout all three days of the exhibition.

Thus, the business programme of Plastex Qazaqstan 2026 covered key areas of industry development, from expanding oil and gas chemical capacities and promoting deep raw material processing to introducing modern materials, improving production processes, and establishing an economically sustainable plastics recycling system.

The practical value of the exhibition format was also highlighted by representatives of the professional community who visited the exhibition to explore new technologies, find suppliers, and establish business contacts: “This is our first time visiting Plastex Qazaqstan, and our impressions are excellent! We managed to find many interesting companies and establish new contacts. I believe that events of this kind have a positive impact on industry development, contribute to its further growth, and help create more comfortable and convenient working conditions”, noted Tilek Kerimkulov, OJSC Chakan HPP.

The successful staging of Plastex Qazaqstan 2026 confirmed the demand for specialised industry platforms that facilitate direct interaction between manufacturers, suppliers of technological solutions, processors, and potential customers. The combination of an international exhibition and expert discussions contributed to professional dialogue on industrial cooperation, import substitution, production localisation, and expanding the capabilities of the domestic chemical industry.

Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries Inc. (KPI) acted as the General Partner of the exhibition.

The event was held with the official support of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Almaty City Akimat, the «Atameken» National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Polymer Market LLP, the Association of Legal Entities "KAZKHIMIYA”, JSC "Damu" Entrepreneurship Development Fund, Petrochemical Association PGCA, the PetroCouncil Oil and Gas Council of Kazakhstan, KNK Chemical, and the Association of Polymer Pipe Producers, as well as industry information partners.

The organisers were the Kazakhstan Exhibition Company Iteca and its international partner, the ICA Events Group of Companies.
